Many non-prescription acne lotions and creams help mild cases of acne. However, many will also make your skin irritated, may aggravate acne, and cause what he calls, "The Oily Roller-Coaster".

Special Treatments & Topicals

  Redness decreases in hours. This painless method typically works without drugs or injections!

• Prevent Bacterial Resistance. Dr. Rosio prescribes specialized topical creams, gels, or lotions that unblock the pores and prevent bacterial resistance. These products may cause some drying. He will advise you about correct usage.

  

• Stop Scarring, Redness & Swelling. Occasionally a gentle injection may be used for treating large red bumps (nodules). Turn off the scarring process. Help them go away quickly.

• Clear the Clogs, Safely. Specialized acne procedures remove blackheads and whiteheads. Do not pick, scratch, pop, or squeeze pimples yourself – this causes more redness, swelling, inflammation, & scarring.

• Reveal New, Healthy Skin. Medical facials, microdermabrasion and light chemical peels may be used. These treatments remove the upper layers of the skin, improve irregularities, re-contour and generate new skin.

• Accutane. Only in cases of unresponsive, severe acne, Accutane may be used. It does not cure acne. This is a powerful drug – not a first line of treatment. Accutane causes muscle pain, tendonitis, headaches, bone and psychological changes and can also cause birth defects. Monitoring with frequent follow-up visits is necessary.
