The American Academy of Dermatology recently awarded Dr. Rosio the Leadership Circle for Volunteerism, in recognition of his hours of dedication to his community by offering free skin cancer screenings. Several times each year Dr. Rosio offers free skin cancer screenings to members of the community and provides education on proper skin care and skin cancer recognition.

Last year, Dr. Rosio helped achieve the Guinness World Record for the most skin cancer screenings performed in a single day during Skin Cancer Awareness Month. He performed over 100 screenings to people of all ages. Of those screened, 8-10% were suspected to have some type of skin cancer. One person, was suspected to have a melanoma, the deadliest type of skin cancer that, when detected early, can be removed without risk to a persons' life.

This year, Dr. Rosio participated in the "Skin Cancer Takes Friends" Campaign, in association with the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Rosio and his staff spent en entire day educating the community on skin cancer and screening people for skin cancer. Additionally, they provided samples of sunscreen and lip protectant in order to help those participants prevent further sun damage.
